Back by popular demand, the Indiana IEP Resource Center is planning another Research to Practice Conference for spring, 2015. The first conference brought a variety of nationally recognized presenters, along with many strong Indiana resources. We want to ensure that this conference meets the needs of Indiana educational professionals.
In this program, M. Wade Wingler, Director of the Assistive Technology Center and the INDATA Project at Easter Seals Crossroads in Indianapolis, will address a wide variety of assistive technology topics that begin with an overview of how technology impacts the lives of people with disabilities, the laws that impact assistive technology and free assistive technology resources available in Indiana as well as throughout the United States. Hands-on components of this training will include iPad accessibility as well as exposure to more than 30 fascinating assistive technology devices. A brainstorming activity for employers of people with disabilities will be conducted as well as an introduction to basic web site/content accessibility tools and techniques.
